‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar weighs in after Miley Cyrus says she inherited dad’s narcissism
Joy Behar weighed in following Miley Cyrus’s recent comments about inheriting narcissism from her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Cyrus’s remarks on Netflix’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman” sparked a discussion on Thursday morning’s episode of “The View.”
Behar humorously questioned Cyrus’s assertion, stating, “Miley thinks she’s inherited narcissism. I can’t agree with you there, Miley. If you’re aware of your narcissism, you’re not really a narcissist.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin, the sole conservative at the table and former White House communications director under Trump, joined in, supporting Behar’s viewpoint. She remarked, “I’ve known plenty of narcissists, maybe even worked for one, and they’re completely unaware. So, good on you, Miley. You’re not a narcissist!”
During her interview with Letterman, Cyrus also praised her mother, Tish Cyrus, calling her a hero and discussing her complex relationship with her father. She credited Billy Ray for grounding her in reality despite his fame and influence. When asked about her parents’ equal contributions, she acknowledged their differences but emphasized their roles in shaping her.
This isn’t the first time Cyrus has opened up about her unique upbringing compared to her father’s experiences. Reflecting on their divergent paths in the limelight, she highlighted how their relationships with fame differed significantly.
Recently, Billy Ray Cyrus made headlines for filing for divorce from his wife, Firerose, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct. The news surfaced after an online search of the Williamson County court system revealed the filing.
